Madonna released the new music video for her single “B—- I’m Madonna” on Wednesday, but only a select few can see the video. It’s a Tidal exclusive.
Tidal is the streaming music service owned by Jay Z, and Madonna is one of the company’s many celebrity investors. Only those who are willing to sign up and pay the monthly fees can watch the video, but there is a free trial. New users get 30 days of Tidal for free.
Even music fans who don’t listen to Madonna want to see the “B—- I’m Madonna” video after hearing about its celebrity guest list. On Tuesday, the Queen of Pop took to Twitter to tell her fans that several stars would appear in the video. In addition to Nicki Minaj, who is featured on the track, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rita Ora were announced as co-stars.
Those viewers who want to see the parade of celebrities without signing up for Tidal will have to wait until Thursday. The Mirror reports that the video will only be exclusive on Tidal for 24 hours before being posted to Madonna’s Vevo account.
However, even Tidal users have had some issues watching the video. The last 45 seconds of the video could not be watched for some time today. Tidal tweeted to tell the “Vogue” singer’s fans that they were working to fix the glitch.
Tidal subscriber problems with watching the music video came after many issues putting the final touches on the highly anticipated project. Madonna had been telling fans that the video would be posted on Tuesday. “Just tryin to make it perfect for all of you,” she posted early Tuesday morning. By that night, Madonna pushed the release until Wednesday.
“Butches its coming Tomorrow!! Can’t mess with this lucky star!” she wrote. She also gave fans a sneak peek to hold them over until the next morning.
“B—- I’m Madonna” is the singer’s third single from her 13th studio album, “Rebel Heart.”
