They let the noise slide!
Police officers Joe Jones and Carrie Lee of Asheville, North Carolina responded to a noise complaint at a Fourth of July block party. But instead of shutting the celebration down, they joined in on the fun.
âThe officers got there and people were like, âOh my gosh, the cops are here. Theyâre going to shut us down,â but they noticed the noise was fine. It was literally the sound of kids playing,â public information officer Christina Hallingse told ABC News.
Thatâs when Officer Lee plunged down the neighborhoodâs huge Slip âN Slide with a trash bag over her uniform, a video posted to Facebook shows.
âWoo-hoo!â Officer Lee exclaimed while sliding down the hill. “I stayed dry!” she said, met with applause and high-fives from neighbors.
Then, it was Officer Jonesâ turn.
âA little boy ran and got a big raftâ for Officer Jones, Hallingse said.
âMy butt is wet,â Jones said at the end of his slippery voyage.
âWhen it’s hot…and your [sic] responding to a street complaint…and there’s a fun way to cool down…you take advantage of a giant slip and slide,â the Asheville Police Department posted on Facebook.
â[The officers] had such good energy,” said neighbor Travis Eagledove. “All the kids were loving it.â
