MEMPHIS, TENN ( – There are justĀ seven days until dozens of artists including Snoop Dogg, Kings of Leon and Jill Scott perform atĀ Beale Street Music Festival next weekend

The music festival is the biggest event of Memphis in May.

Crews have been at Tom Lee Park all week to get it ready for another music-filled weekend.

“They moved into Tom Lee Park Monday, and they’ve been working nonstop since,” said Jim Holt, President and CEO of Memphis in May.

So far teams of people have set up trailers, tents, flooring and more.

“The stages are scheduled to go up I think they’re starting work on those today. They’ll be working on those through the weekend,” said Holt.

Memphis in May rents Tom Lee Park from the Riverfront Development Corporation and spends about $1.5 million in infrastructure building it up for Beale Street Music Festival then converting it for the barbecue cooking contest and 901 Fest.

One week until Beale Street Music Festival kicks off Memphis in May, Holt said tickets have been sold in all 50 states and 14 foreign countries including Argentina, Pakistan, and Japan.

“It’s our biggest event of the month is terms of attendance and revenue, so it’s very important,” said Holt.

And in a matter of days, he says it will be the party of the year.

“We’re going to have from what I see in the spectacular forecast weather. We’ve got a great lineup. People coming from everywhere so it should be a lot of fun,” said Holt.

Beale Street Music Festival takes place at Tom Lee Park Friday, May 5 – Sunday, May 7.
